**Note: I ship fresh cultures (week old cultures, sometimes less) but sometimes I have already producing cultures. If you prefer already producing cultures please message me before buying as they are not always available**

This ad is for one (1) culture of your choice of flies, Melanogaster, Hydei, Golden Hydei or Turkish Gliders. It does not come with anything else. This will be a fresh culture and as such, it is not producing yet. I try and ship out week old cultures so the production time you need to wait is less and some eggs have been laid.

Turkish Glider Melanogaster
Drosophila melanogaster 'Turkish Glider'

  • Turkish Glider Melanogaster are the smallest size of fruit flies at 1/16"
  • Turkish Glider Melanogaster are a winged and slightly darker than the Golden or Common Wingless Melanogaster
  • This winged form of melanogaster can 'glide' short distances making for a more active feeder enticing even the pickiest of eaters
  • Turkish Gliders produce fast and consistently with cultures producing every 1-2 weeks depending on temperature
  • Cultures should be kept between 70°F - 80°F. Under 70° cultures will start to slow down and not reproduce. Above 80° cultures could develop the ability to fly
  • Cultures will begin producing in about 2 weeks

Golden Hydei
Drosophila hydei 'Gold'

  • Golden Hydei are the largest size of fruit flies at 1/8"
  • Golden Hydei are a lighter color form of the popular dark colored hydei fruit fly
  • Although Golden Hydei fruit flies have wings they are unable to fly or flutter
  • Cultures should be kept between 70°F - 80°F. Under 70° cultures will start to slow down and not reproduce. Above 80° cultures could develop the ability to fly
  • Cultures are made fresh weekly and the offspring of these cultures can make several new cultures
  • Fruit Fly Cultures will begin producing in about 3 weeks

Hydei Fruit Fly
Drosophila hydei

  • Drosophila Hydei are the largest size of fruit flies at 1/8"
  • Hydei Fruit Flies are a great small feeder option for smaller sized reptiles, frogs, inverts and more!
  • Although Hydei fruit flies have wings they are unable to fly or flutter
  • Cultures should be kept between 70°F - 80°F. Under 70° cultures will start to slow down and not reproduce. Above 80° cultures could develop the ability to fly
  • Cultures are made fresh weekly and the offspring of these cultures can make several new cultures
  • Cultures will begin producing in about 3 weeks

Wingless Golden Melanogaster
Drosophila melanogaster 'golden delicious'

  • Golden Delicious Wingless Melanogaster are the smallest size of fruit flies at 1/16"
  • Golden Delicious Wingless Melanogaster are a wingless and lighter color form of the common D. melanogaster
  • This wingless and golden form of melanogaster allows for easy breeding and booming cultures in short time
  • Cultures should be kept between 70°F - 80°F. Under 70° cultures will start to slow down and not reproduce. Above 80° cultures could develop the ability to fly
  • Cultures will begin producing in about 2 weeks

Wingless Melanogaster (common)
Drosophila melanogaster

  • Wingless Melanogaster are the smallest size of fruit flies at 1/16"
  • Wingless Melanogaster are a wingless and darker in color than the "Golden Delicious"
  • This wingless form of melanogaster allows for easy breeding and booming cultures in short time

  • Cultures will begin producing in about 2 weeks

I ship Monday to Thursday as it's usually 2-3 day delivery and the flies shouldn't sit around over a weekend in a box.
